Privacy Policy

The Dee Trust is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information responsibly.

This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use and protect personal information when you interact with the Trust. It applies to anyone who works with us or contacts us, including landowners, farmers, volunteers, donors, contractors, partner organisations, former employees, applicants, event participants and members of the public.

How we use your information

We collect only the personal information needed to deliver our charitable objectives. Depending on your relationship with the Trust, this may include your contact details, correspondence, information relating to land ownership or management, project information, volunteer records, donation records and other information relevant to our work.

In most cases, we process this information because it is necessary for our legitimate interests as an environmental charity. We use it to develop and deliver environmental projects, maintain relationships with landowners and stakeholders, communicate with those we work with, administer agreements and contracts, meet legal and funding requirements, and identify future conservation opportunities. Where we rely on your consent, such as for newsletters or marketing communications, you may withdraw your consent at any time.

Sharing your information

The Trust recognises that much of the information shared with us is provided in confidence. We will not share your personal information with other organisations without your agreement, unless we are required to do so by law. We never sell personal information or use it for purposes unrelated to our charitable objectives.

Keeping your information

We take appropriate measures to protect the personal information we hold and store it securely on Trust systems.

We retain personal information only for as long as there is a lawful and operational need to do so. As many of our projects and relationships are long-term, some information may be retained for the lifetime of the Trust where there remains an ongoing operational need.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, request that information is deleted where appropriate, object to certain processing activities and withdraw your consent where processing is based on consent.

If you have any questions about this Privacy Notice or how we use your personal information, please use the contact us page on our website.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

This Privacy Notice may be updated from time to time. The latest version will always be available from the Dee Trust

TRACKING SITE VISITS

Like most websites, this site uses Google Analytics (GA) to track user interaction. We use this data to determine the number of people using our site, to better understand how they find and use our web pages and to see their journey through the website.

Although GA records data such as your geographical location, device, internet browser and operating system, none of this information personally identifies you to us. GA also records your computer’s IP address which could be used to personally identify you but Google do not grant us access to this. We consider Google to be a third party data processor.

GA makes use of cookies, details of which can be found on Google’s developer guides. FYI our website uses the analytics.js implementation of GA.

Disabling cookies on your internet browser will stop GA from tracking any part of your visit to pages within this website.
